Codex Bezae—Luke 23:47–24:1Michael Leary of EKTHESIS has posted a couple of interesting observations about the bindings of Codex Bezae and Codex Sinaiticus.

For the uninitiate: these two codices are important manuscripts for the study of the text of the Bible. Codex Bezae (pictured at right) is important for study of the so-called “Western Text” of the New Testament. Codex Sinaiticus is important for the study of the Septuagint, the New Testament, the Epistle of Barnabas, and the Shepherd of Hermas. It is one of the best exemplars of the so-called “Alexandrian Text.”
